About this deal

The idea of this mesh network is to keep all the Wifi5 devices separate. If you have a specific need for wifi 6 allow those devices to connect to the wifi6 channel (set it to AX only).

Fixed DoS vulnerability from spoofed sae authentication frame. Thanks to Efstratios Chatzoglou, University of the Aegean, Georgios Kambourakis, European Commission at the European Joint Research Centre, and Constantinos Kolias, University of Idaho. I’ve been a follower of yours for a year now, and really love the first-class content you deliver to us. My problem is that I can’t figure out why the reported negotiated speed is not reporting as 1.2 or 2.4gbps on my laptop, but instead fluctuating so wildly. Again, the RT-AX92U is one of the tri-band routers that use different Wi-Fi standards for its three bands.I am not too bothered by the network speed drop off (it’s not a significant amount) and I’m also not all that bothered by Trend Micro harvesting my browsing data (we are too far gone to stop data harvesting in this day and age), however do you think there is anything to be concerned about regarding the increased idle memory use? The 92U is a terrific little router but excessive amounts of memory is not it’s strong point. And as an aside (just out of curiosity) do you personally advocate the use of AI-protection in general? Secondary : USB Based (4G SIM Card Mobile Data via Android Phone) – Annual Quota of Data – Always connected to charger and router. The chart compares speed of 4x4 11ax on 5GHz 160MHz bandwidth with 1024QAM modulation to speed of 4x4 11ac on 5GHz 80MHz with 256QAM modulation. The actual transfer speed of USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and/or Type-C will vary depending on many factors including the processing speed of the host device, file attributes and other factors related to system configuration and your operating environment. So I’m interested in this model and wanted to know the best way to set it up with my current network. Currently I have ATT gigabit internet and have the BGW210 Modem/Router. I’m looking to add the RT-AX92U to the setup and I’m wondering if it’ll be any better for performance if I use the BGW210 in bridge mode (aka passthrough in the router settings) or if I just setup the AX92U as an access point. I ask because if I use it as an access point, it seems I will still get coverage from the original router (which is in my bedroom) which would help cover that side of the apt. The router comes with the usual one Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports despite the small footprint. It even has room for two USB ports to host storage, printers, or a cellular modem.

Most notably, it has AiProtection that includes free online real-time protection and a set of Parental Control settings. There’s also Adaptive QoS that allows for easy prioritization of the Internet traffic for different purposes. The range should ideally be 1,000 sq ft for the garage (network1), and 2,500 sq ft around the cabin (network2).

I upgraded the laptop with an Intel Dual Band 2.4Gbps Wi-Fi 6 Wireless AX200NGW 802.11ax/ac Bluetooth 5.0 Network Card. Device manager and Intel Driver Support Assistant both say it is what it’s meant to be. 802.1ax mode is enabled. What’s more, the router even supports WTFast Gamers Private Network. Available in only select Asus routers, WTFast allows the router, hence the network it hosts, to be part of a proprietary VPN designed to deliver the best online gaming experience given the broadband speed. The NanoStations have worked well for us in the past when beaming the previous DSL network (5Mbps), but now that we’re upgrading to the fiber speeds which are fantastic for the North Woods location of Wisconsin, I want the most robust, future-proof setup possible. It then only allows 2 channel smart connect. The only way I get 3 channel smart connect is to reset the router and configure without the node==without aimesh. My situation is I’m in Australia where broadband is slow. I’m about to start a 100mbps / 40 mbps plan. In haste I bought the AX92U pair.

My Canon E480 wifi printer disconnected to any of the AX92U units after 1 week problem free usage. I had hard reset the printer, it just won’t connect. It manages to locate the SSID, asking whether to connect to one router or multiple routers, and I tried both, it just won’t connect. I tried another wifi printer, Canon E460, same issue. First of all, let me thank you for your thorough and complete review of these routers. Your knowledge, insight and thoroughness is much appreciated. Also, clients that don’t support DFS might not be able to connect to it. Keep this in mind if you intend to use an RT-AX92U as a standalone router. A Wi-Fi 5 mesh system at its core Having said that, I’m hoping to add a bit of bandwidth by using a 4G – parabolic antenna modem on my roof (oh did I mention I live in a valley and my normal 4G is, well, as good as not existing); we’re hoping to add 10 to 20Mb… (streaming HD, maybe 4K in the future). I’m thinking about pairing two ASUS WiFi 6 routers via Ethernet, and part away from the Ubiquiti NanoStation setup.

We utilise this 802.11ax speed to transfer data between two RT-AX92U routers, realising the fastest WiFi speed before the compatible 11ax devices are available on the market. So you can enjoy the technology from the future now and still connect it with the latest 802.11ax devices when they come out in the near future. This was right at my wired PC with everything connected, eveything being the cable modem, the 2 DGL-4500’s, and a Netgear 8-port unmanned switch. Thanks, your review and comments are much appreciated. Decided to go with the 92us and get a 3rd one for upstairs. Totally learnt a lot from your review and got the AX92U for myself. Generally, they are working as you described and I love them. 1 week later, issues started to pop up, and hopefully you can shed some light on these issues.
